Cat Rags County. Cats county wide were shocked last week by a summer
blizzard that dropped 15 feet of snow in 30 minutes. It was so deep that county snow crews
couldn't even find their plows. An elderly couple on their way to visit their new
grandkitties found themselves stranded in the countryside. Ironically they were discovered
by a Cat Scout troop practicing for their merit badges in winter survival. After first
erecting a cozy igloo, the team gathered wood and set out to find food. Ice fishing in
Lake Cat Rags provided a bountiful catch for the seven day ordeal. The scouts will be
honored today at City Hall in a ceremony where they will receive their merit badges. The
remaining fish will be distributed to the needy, compliments of the Cat Scouts.
