Cat Rags Implements PICS Self-Rating System

Cat Rags County. In a show of support for the Recreational Software Advisory Council (RSAC), Cat Rags today announced that they have implemented the PICS self-rating system. The "content advisor" system which presently works only with Internet Explorer version 3.0, is an alternative to government regulation and censorship. It allows parents to "set levels of restriction" on the Internet content which their children view.

"We are proud to be among the first few thousand sites to implement PICS", said Alice Pineworthy, President and Publisher of Cat Rags. "PICS empowers parents with the controls they need to protect their children. We applaud the efforts of RSAC, Microsoft, Disney and others who have made this possible."

Web sites that want to register and parents desiring more information can link to the FAQs from the RSAC home page at
www.rsac.org. Microsoft Internet Explorer can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com/ie. The most recent issue of the kid and adult friendly Cat Rags newsletter is at http://www.CatRags.Com/.
